In June 11th 2017, Prof. Imasaka Totaro from Chemistry Department and Lecturer Imasaka Tomoko from the Department of Environmental Design of Kyushu University visited NTNU. The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, had a good showing at the 50th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2018 in Prague, Czech. In 76 countries and 300 students, 4 Taiwanese students received 1 gold, 3 silver.

The Taiwan team, trained by professors of NTNU, had a good showing at the 49th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) 2017 in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. A total of 279 students from 76 countries attended this year. Taiwan is ranked the first in the world with four golden medals. Yeh Yuan Chen from Taichung Municipal Taichung First Senior High School was ranked 2nd in personal world rankings.

Alumna Wang Sue Lein Receives National Professorships

The 15th Excellent Alumni Award Receiver Wang Sue Lein was awarded the lifetime honorable award National Professorships by the Ministry of Education. Wang now serves as professor at the Department of Chemistry of National Tsing Hua University, focusing on Solid-state Inorganic Materials Chemistry and X-ray Crystallography. When speaking of her study history, Prof. Wang said that the key to success is to work hard and being down to earth.
